HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-042RESOLUTION NO. 01-042 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER AS APPLICANT AGENT FOR THE STATE OF WASHINGTON HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATION WHEREAS, The City of Port Townsend desires to apply for a grant through the State of Washington Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; and ' WHEREAS, All grant applications must have Council approval; and WHEREAS, It is a requirement of this grant program to designate an applicant agent and an alternate; and WHEREAS, The City Manager is the customary designated signature for contract, agreements and applications, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: THAT David G. Timmons, City Manager for the City of Port Townsend and ALTERNATE Kenneth Clow, Public Works Director for the City of Port Townsend is hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Port Townsend, a local government entity established under laws of the State of Washington, this application and to file in the Military Department, Emergency Management Division for the purpose of obtaining certain federal and state financial assistance under Section 404 P.L. 93-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Act of 1988. THAT the City Council of the City of Port Townsend hereby authorizes its agent to provide to the State Emergency Management Division for all matters concerning such state disaster mitigation assistance the assurances and agreements required. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof, held this 18th day of September, 2001.
