Mountain View Dog Park Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting. Port Townsend Friday, September 15, 4 pm
Mountain View, 1925 Blaine Street. Celebrate the addition of our newest dog park, a place where your
four-legged friends may run off leash.
September is designated as “Responsible Dog Ownership Month” by the AKC (American Kennel Club)
and it’s a perfect opportunity to celebrate our newest addition. Debbie and Rick Jahnke along with
DROP (Dog Recreation on the Peninsula) were instrumental in getting the new Dog Park up and running.
“City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Alex Wisniewski and his staff gave you a dog
park. We just gave you a fence. Now go play!” said Debbie Jahnke, Chair of the Parks, Recreation and
Trees Advisory Board for the City.
Come on Friday to celebrate! Invited guests include Debbie and Rick Jahnke, Bob Gray, Council Member
and Vice President of DROP (Dog Recreation On the Peninsula), interested DROP members, interested
members from the Oly Pen Pack group, members of PRTAB the Parks, Recreation & Trees Advisory
Board, Mayor Deborah Stinson, Acting City Manager, Nora Mitchell, City staff, and others… and we hope
MANY of you will come along (with or without your dog)!
