MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING OF JUNE 17,
2019
CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Port Townsend City Council met in special session on the 17th day of June 2019
in Council Chambers at 540 Water Street. Mayor Deborah Stinson called the meeting
to order at 11:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers present at roll call were Pamela Adams, David Faber, Robert Gray,
Amy Howard, Michelle Sandoval, and Deborah Stinson with Ariel Speser absent.
Staff members present were City Attorney Heidi Greenwood, and City Clerk Joanna
Sanders.
NEW BUSINESS
City Manager Candidate Interviews
City Attorney Heidi Greenwood reviewed that interviews are planned to occur in
executive session. An event Tuesday evening would provide the public an
opportunity to meet the candidates.
Motion: Pamela Adams moved to approve the slate of candidates invited by Phil
McKenney, the City Manager executive recruiter, and conduct interviews of the four
invited candidates. David Faber seconded.
Vote: motion carried unanimously, 6-0 by voice vote.
EXECUTIVE SESSION — PURSUANT TO RCW 42.30.110(1)(D) QUALIFICATIONS
OF AN APPLICANT FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT
At 11:03 a.m., Council recessed into Executive Session for six and half hours
expecting to conclude at 5:30 p.m. Council Member Speser arrived at 1:10 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m., the Council came back into open session.
ADJOURN
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
