A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND DESIGNATING THE PORT TOWNSEND
LEADER AS THE OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER FOR THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington resolves as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend is required, pursuant to RCW
35A.21.230, to designate an official newspaper of general circulation, for purposes
including but not limited to the publication of the City's ordinances and various legal
notices; and
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Leader meets the criteria set forth in RCW
65.16.020 setting forth qualifications of legal newspapers; and
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Leader was last formally designated as the official
newspaper of record by Resolution 99-061 for a one year period;
WHEREAS, the designation should continue unimermpted until such time as the
City Council wishes to consider a change in the designation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City
of Port Townsend does hereby designate the Port Townsend Leader as the official
newspaper for the City pursuant to and for the purposes set forth in RCW 35A.21.230
beginning January 1, 2002.
