HomeMy WebLinkAbout110618 Minutes HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES Date: Time:Location: November 6, 2018 3:00 pm City Hall, Third Floor Conference Room Members Present: Charles Paul (Chair), George Randels, Richard Berg (Vice Chair), Cate Comerford, Kathleen Croston, Don Schussler, Members Absent:Staff Present: Craig Britton Senior Planner John McDonagh Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Approval of Minutes The minutes of Oct. 2, 2018 were unanimously approved (6-0). Approval of the Agenda The Agenda for Nov. 6 was amended (and accepted unanimously (6-0)) as follows:  Add under “New Business” an Item B to review & make recommendation on HPC18-037;  nd Add a 2 “Other Business” item that responds to questions of the Community Task Force on City Manager Recruitment. Amendment included reversing order of Other Business items, making HPC’s discussion and response to the recruitment questions Item A and a report on the Library staircase and rock wall project Item B. LUP18-036, Jefferson County – Removal and Gordon Ramstrom, Architectural Projects Planner with Jefferson County Public Works, replacement of 2 baseball dugouts at Memorial presented the proposal. 1 of 2 existing 1948 dugouts was damaged beyond repair by Field. an accident during the Memorial Field light pole replacement project. On their exterior, the new structures will match the existing dugouts in terms of size, location and material(s). Color would be taken from the City’s pre-approved palette (Essex Green PT 38-B) HPC recommended unanimous approval as presented (6-0). LUP18-037, 626 Benton St. - Replace wood Applicant and home owner Gary Ingbretson and Hope Roofing representative shingled roof with new asphalt shingles not on Stephanie NIckasio presented the alternative roofing material proposed for use on 626 the pre-approved roofing list. Benton St. (Malarkey Windsor series in Heather color). HPC recommended approval of the application unanimously (6-0). Separately, HPC recommended the Windsor series of Malarkey be added to the City’s pre-approved roofing list in the following colors (Heather, Storm Grey, Natural Wood and Weathered Wood). Other Business, Item A – Responses to City See attached Response Summary. Manager Recruitment questions Other Business, Item B – Report on Library Richard Berg, who’s firm Terrapin Architecture is managing the City’s Library project, stairs and rock wall project updated HPC on rock wall and Lawrence entry concrete staircase.
