Visitor CenterProject
The Visitor Center Project construction startson Wednesday August 14thand will continue until the end
of October 2019. The project is located in front of the Visitor Center, adjacent to the intersection of Sims
Way and Jefferson Street. Improvements include enhanced Visitor Center access, additional parking, new
stormwater facilities, landscaping, and 275 feet of sidewalk (on the south side of Sims Way). As well, the
project will construct a new landscaped public plaza, which will be the site of a largescale sculpture by

the late artist, Ru ssel Jaqua, titled “For Willene”.
Due to the construction, the intersection of Jefferson Street and Sims Way will be closedto vehicles
starting on August 14 th until the end of October. Parking spaces will remain available adjacent to the
Visitor Center over the course of the projectConstruction will typically occur between 7:00 am and 6:00
