RESOLUTION NO. 19-066
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT A
PETITION TO THE WASHINGTON STATE CONSERVATION COMMISSION
REQUESTING THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND BE INCLUDED IN THE
JEFFERSON COUNTY CONSERVATION DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Washington state law allows incorporated cities to petition the Washington
State Conservation Commission for inclusion in the adjoining conservation district; and
WHEREAS,the City of Port Townsend borders the Jefferson County Conservation
District; and
WHEREAS, City residents benefit from the services provided by the Jefferson County
Conservation District, including technical assistance and other tools to the agricultural
community in resource conservation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend:
The Mayor is authorized and directed to submit a petition to the Washington State
Conservation Commission requesting that the City of Port Townsend be included in the
Jefferson County Conservation District.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 15th day of July 2019.
