RESOLUTION NO. 19-053
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY COUNCIL FINANCE
AND BUDGET COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF A CITY-OPERATED
GOLF COURSE
WHEREAS,the City of Port Townsend golf course lease expires December 31, 2020;
and
WHEREAS,National Golf Foundation Consulting, Inc. assessed the needs of the City
golf course and determined that the most viable operations model for the property as a golf
course is a City-operated course with additional services provided by a golf professional; and
WHEREAS,the City anticipates that the golf course would required a City subsidy to
meet both the operational and capital needs of the golf course;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend:
The Port Townsend City Council Finance and Budget Committee is tasked to study and
report to the full Council, with ninety days, on the feasibility of City of Port Townsend
operated golf course.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a special business
meeting thereof, held this 13th day of June 2019.
