A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SIGN A PUBLIC WORKS TRUST FUND LOAN
AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY TRADE AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT FOR WATER PRESSURE IMPROVEMENTS
TO THE MORGAN HILL AND JACOB MILLER AREAS OF THE
CITY'S WATER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, The Washington State Department of Health identified areas of the
city's water system as having insufficient water pressure and fire flow; and
WHEREAS, The projects identified to improve water pressure and fire flow have
an estimated cost of $1,539,000.00; and
WHEREAS, This loan provides a low interest (1/2 %per annum) funding
mechanism for $1,308,150.00 of the total costs,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend as follows: The City Manger is hereby authorized to sign a Public Works
Trust Fund loan agreement in the amount of $1,308,150.00. with the Washington State
Department of Community Trade and Economic Development.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this fourth day of March, 2002.
