RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND BY ESTABLISHING A CITY COUNCIL
TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington resolves as follows:
WHEREAS, the City faces major transportation issues, including but not limited to,
the items identified in the Transportation Element of the Port Townsend ComprehensiVe Plan;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines there is a need to establish a Transportation
Committee to support the Council in review of issues and to facilitate public policy formation
relating to transportation issues facing the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
1. There is established as a standing committee of the City Council a Transportation
Committee.
The Committee is created to support the Council in review of issues and to facilitate
public policy formation relating to transportation issues facing the City. The
Committee may undertake review of transportation issues it deems appropriate and/or
as assigned by the Council.

The Transportation Committee shall be comprised of the Chairpersons of the
Community Development/Land Use Committee, General Government Committee and
the Finance/Budget Committee. The Chairpersons shall each designate an alternate
member of their committee to attend when they are not available.
The Committee with the consent of the Council may create such subcommittees or
advisory boards as it may deem necessary or expedient to expand public process and
participation. ~
5. The following boards and task forces will report to the Transportation Committee:
· Nonmotorized Transportation Advisory Board (Resolution 01-017)
· Transportation Advisory Board
· Parking Task Force

6. No sunset provision is established. The Council will periodically review the need for
continuing the Transportation Committee.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor
on this eighth day of April, 2002.
