Location:
The proposed code amendments will apply within the Rainier St/Upper
Sims Way Subarea.
Proposal:
The city is considering amendments to the Port Townsend Comprehensive
Plan and the Port Townsend Municipal Code (PTMC). The amendments will revise
existing PTMC Chapters 17.08, 17.18, 17.20, 17.22 and create new PTMC Chapters
17.31 and 17.33. The proposal will also consider changes to the City’s Official Zoning
map. The amendments and zoning map changes are being proposed to implement the
Rainier St/Upper Sims Way Subarea Plan.

Determination of NonSignificance:
The City of Port Townsend, as SEPA lead agency for this
project, has determined that the proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on
the environment and is expecting to issue a Determination of NonSignificance(DNS) under the
State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11 WAC). The optional DNS/MDNS
process is being used and this may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental
impacts of the proposal. This determination was made after a review of a completed
environmental checklist and other information on file with the City of Port Townsend which can
be obtained from the address shown below.

environmental analysis and SEPA determination must be submitted to the Planning Department
