A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
TONKIN/HOYNE/LOKAN ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN DESIGN TO
PROVIDE ARCHITECTURAL AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING DESIGN
AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION SERVICES FOR THE PORT
TOWNSEND BELL TOWER RESTORATION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City and Contractor desire to enter into an Agreement to
formalize their relationship; and
it would be beneficial to the City to utilize the Contractor as an
independent entity to provide architectural and structural
engineering design and construction supervision services for the
Port Townsend Bell Tower Restoration project; and
WHEREAS, such services require specialized expertise and training; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficiem staff or expertise to conduct
such services itself; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has experience as an architectural and structural
engineering design firm; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has been selected from the City's Professional
Services Roster; and
WHEREAS, the City finds that Tonkin/Hoyne/Lokan Architecture and Urban
Design is qualified to perform the services required,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to execute a Professional
Services Agreement with Tonkin/Hoyne/Lokan Architecture and Urban Design
for architectural and structural engineering design and construction supervision
services for the Port Townsend Bell Tower Restoration project.

regular meeting thereof, held this sixth day of May, 2002.
