A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEEMNT WITH A CONSULTING
ENGINEERING FIRM TO PREPARE AN OVERALL IMPLEMENTATION
STRATEGY AND SCHEDULE FOR WATER, SEWER AND TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENTS IN THE UPPER SIMS WAY COMMERCIAL AREA
WHEREAS, the City's Comprehensive Plan identifies water, sewer and
transportation improvements in the Sims Way Commercial District as a priority; and
WHEREAS, the recommended improvements are identified in the Sewer and
Water Master Plans, the Gateway Plan, the Non-Motorized Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, creating a funding and implementation strategy for these plans
requires considerable expertise and staff time; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff to accomplish these goals,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute a
Professional Services Agreement with a consulting engineering firm to prepare an overall
implementation strategy and schedule for water, sewer and transportation improvements
in the Upper Sims Way Commercial District.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this twentieth day of May, 2002.
