A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL UNION NO. 589
OF THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF TEAMSTERS FOR POLICE
DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2002 THROUGH
DECEMBER 31, 2004
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend has reviewed the
terms of the tentative agreement negotiated by the City Manager and the bargaining
representatives for the Tcamster's Union No. 589; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to implement the tentative agreement
substantially in the form as attached to this Resolution and presented to the City Council
at its meeting held on May 20, 2002, by authorizing the City Manager to sign a final
agreement with the Teamster's Union No. 589,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of
Port Townsend, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a collective
bargaining agreement in substantially the form attached hereto between the City of Port
Townsend and Local Union No. 589 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for
City Police Department employees effective for the period between January 1, 2002 and
December 31, 2004.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this twentieth day of May, 2002.
