HomeMy WebLinkAbout022619 PRTAB Minutes PARKS, RECREATION & TREE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES Date: 2/26/2019 Time: 4:30 p.m. Location: City Hall First Floor Conference Room Members Present: Debbie Jahnke (Interim Chair), Daniel Greholver, Brenda McMillan, Ed Robeau, Jim Todd Members Excused: Paul Schutt Members Absent: Paul Schutt Staff Present: Alex Wisniewski, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director; Samantha Harper, Assistant City Engineer II; David Faber, City Council member and PRTAB Council liaison Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Approval of Agenda: The agenda was unanimously approved. Approval of Minutes: The minutes of January 22, 2019 were unanimously approved. Public Comment: None. Stormwater Management Plan: Samantha Harper provided a presentation on the most recent draft of the City’s Stormwater Management Plan. None, presentation was information only. Dahlia Park Name Change Update: Tim O’Neil, Chair of the Jefferson County Master Gardeners Foundation, presented on a proposed name change for Dahlia Park; the proposed name change is Mary Robson Master Gardeners Park. Additional information about the history of trying to name the park was distributed to the Board. The Board discussed the topic and unanimously voted to postpone a decision until April to review all materials provided. Dog Park at Mountain View update: Alex Wisniewski provided an update on the potential for a dog park at Mountain View. A proposed dog park design was shared. None, information only. Recreation and Maintenance Update: The written Director’s update was provided to the Board with the agenda in advance of the meeting. No questions were generated. None, information only. 2019 Department Work Plan: Alex Wisniewski presented the annual work plans for the parks, pool, and administration divisions. The board will review materials and bring back questions at the April meeting. Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Functional Plan update: The Board had a brief discussion about the process for updating the Functional Plan. The Board unanimously approved to review section 1 of the plan for discussion at the April meeting. Next Meeting: The next regular meeting will be on March 26, 2016. Board and Public Comment: David Faber presented the Ad Hoc Committee on Committees’ recommendations to City Council about proposed changes to the PRTAB’s enabling resolution. The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
