HomeMy WebLinkAbout031319 PTAC Minutes Minutes of the Port Townsend Arts Commission Special Meeting of March 13, 2019 LOCATION: City Hall Conference Room 3 MEMBERS PRESENT: Dominica Lord-Wood, Owen Rowe (Chair), Stan Rubin, and Maryann Tapiro MEMBERS EXCUSED: Kris Morris, Dan Groussman, and Nhatt Nichols STAFF PRESENT: City Attorney Heidi Greenwood, and Executive Assistant Kelly Graves Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 3:04 p.m. Approval of Agenda The agenda was approved with the following changes: Request to address the LTAC fund applications first, changed order of presentations – 1. Jefferson County Farmers Market - Wording the Land, 2. Jefferson County Farmers Market – Artisan Food Festival, 3. RainShadow Chorale, 4. Key City Public Theatre Approval of Minutes for January 2, 2019 The minutes for the February meeting were approved unanimous 4-0 Public Comment No public Comment Chair’s Update and Announcements Mr. Rowe informed the Commission that One act play awards went very well. He attended the ArtsWA workshop and got a lot of great info. Budget Update Added in new requests and added LTAC column. Monies were paid to Storyborne, and Jefferson County YMCA. As of today the commission has $17-$19K requested and $15K allocated. Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Funding Application: Jefferson County Farmers Market – Artisan Food Festival Amanda Milholland presented an application to support and promote Artisan Food Festival outside of the County, and regional advertising. The Commission voted 4-0, to fund $820 from LTAC funds to Jefferson County Farmers Market Funding Application: Jefferson County Farmers Market/Finnriver – Wording the Land Amanda Milholland and Crystie Kisler presented their application for a partnership to bring poetry together with food and art to the community Stan Rubin moved to propose funding $1000 for general funds, and $1000 for LTAC funds (The original application asked for $3000 general, and $1000 LTAC) The Commission voted 4-0, to fund $1000 from general funds and $1000 from LTAC funds to Jefferson County Farmers Market/Finnriver Funding Application: RainShadow Chorale Ron Dionne presented an application for his organization to do Spring concerts, and funding would help with all costs involved. The Commission voted 4-0, to fund $400 to RainShadow Chorale Funding Application: Key City Public Theatre Denise Winter presented an application for funding to support the Pay What You Wish Program. The Commission voted 4-0, to fund $3000 to Key City Public Theatre Angel of the Arts & Patron of the Arts Stan is still working on writing the press release. Decided to wait for next meeting when more commissioners will be present to decide on details and set a date for the ceremony. Possibly do in the fall. ArtsWA Creative District Workshop reimbursement The Commission voted 3-0, with Mr. Rowe abstaining, to approve the reimbursement for Mr. Rowe’s registration for attending the workshop in the amount of $50. Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Next Meeting: April 3, 2019, 3 p.m. Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 4:42 p.m.
