A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH
JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT//6
FOR FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES AT THE CITY'S BIOSOLIDS
COMPOSTING FACILITY
WHEREAS, The City needs to have fire protection services to protect the Biosolids
Composting Facility; and
WHEREAS, The City has a Biosolids Composting Facility on land leased at the Jefferson
County Waste Management Facility site in Jefferson County Fire District #6 service area; and
WHEREAS, A base fee of $2,000 annually has been established for Jefferson County Fire
District #6 to provide fire protection services for the City; and
WHEREAS, The City desires to enter into a five year contract, from January 1, 2002 to
December 31, 2006 for Jefferson County Fire Protection District #6 to provide fire protection for the
Biosolids Composting Facility at a cost of $2,000 annually,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to sign a contract agreement with Jefferson County
Fire Protection District #6 for $2,000 to be paid annually over the five year term of this agreement
for fire protection at the Biosolids Composting Facility at the Jefferson County Waste Management
Facility Site.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof,
held this fifteenth day of July, 2002.
