RESOLUTION NO. 19-031
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A DESIGN
CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY SHORELINE REPAIRS IN VARIOUS DOWNTOWN
AREA STREET ENDS.
WHEREAS, various sections of the downtown shoreline at the Quincy Street, Adams
Street and Gaines Street were eroded during the winter storm in December of 2018; and
WHEREAS, due to the emergency nature PND Engineers, Inc., who has done past
shoreline engineering for the City, was solicited to provide a scope and fee for preliminary design
and permit preparation for the Joint Aquatic Resource Permit Application(DARPA); and
WHEREAS, due to the emergency nature this specific work was not included in the 2019
budget, but will be jointly funded through Public Works Administration, engineering services
and the wastewater fund; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must authorize the City Manager to sign the design service
contract for PND Engineers, Inc.; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
to authorize the City Manager to sign design contract for emergency shoreline repairs in various
downtown area street ends.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 18th day of March 2019.
