HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-029 Authorizing and Directing the City Manager to Submit an Application to the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) for Aid in Financing the Costs of Public Facilities Consisting of the 7th Street Corridor Construction Resolution 19-029 RESOLUTION NO. 19-029 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE WASHINGTON STATE COMMUNITY ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION BOARD (CERB) FOR AID IN FINANCING THE COSTS OF PUBLIC FACILITIES CONSISTING OF 7TH STREET CORRIDOR CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, the 7" Street corridor construction allows for the economic development of the Rainer Street and Upper Sims areas to the stated goals of attracting and maintaining artisan manufacturing businesses; and WHEREAS, the City was awarded a grant of$300,000 from Clallam County for the 7t" Street corridor development; and WHEREAS, the 7" Street corridor construction will create jobs and increase property values in the area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend: The City Manager of the City of Port Townsend is hereby authorized and directed to submit an application CERB for grant or loan funds in the amount of$600,000 and execute such other documents as may be required for securing aid in financing the cost of the above-described public facilities.
