HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-028 Authorizing the Addition of a Full-Time Employee as an Administrative Support Specialist to Parks, Recreation, and Community Services in Anticipation of a Future Budget Amendment Resolution 19-028 RESOLUTION NO. 19-028 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION OF A FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE AS AN ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST TO PARKS, RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES IN ANTICIPATION OF A FUTURE BUDGET AMENDMENT BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department of the City is an important part of the City's quality of life and provides recreational and outdoor activities for City residents and visitors; and, WHEREAS, the City citizens are a dynamic and engaged group who willingly volunteer countless hours to the City, greatly improving the look and spirit of the community; and, WHEREAS,the City does not currently have staff dedicated to volunteer coordination and administrative support for the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department; and, WHEREAS,the City anticipates a budget savings from changes in prosecution services and other personnel changes; and, WHEREAS,both City staff and the City Council Ad Hoc Committee on Committees have recommended that the City hire an additional full-time employee to serve as a volunteer coordinator and administrative support specialist in the Parks,Recreation,and Community Services Department; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend to authorize the City Manager to recruit and hire an additional full-time employee as an administrative support specialist to the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department.
