RESOLUTION NO. 19-027
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A QUIT
CLAIM DEED TO RELEASE CITY INTEREST IN JEFFERSON COUNTY TAX
PARCEL NUMBERS 001-034-015 AND 001-034-017
WHEREAS, by a Record of Survey filed on August 2, 2018 under Assessor's File
Number 618326, a right-of-way that was presumed to exist for Alder Street between 30th Street
and Discovery Road was verified to never have been dedicated to the public; and
WHEREAS,the City of Port Townsend accepts the representations set forth in the
Record of Survey subject to retention of a prescriptive easement over and across those portions
of Alder Street where public improvements have long existed; and,
WHEREAS,the City desires to release any City interest the public may have in the
private lands lying east of those Alder Street public improvements as shown on the Record of
Survey; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to execute a quit claim deed releasing all interest
that the City of Port Townsend may have in the real property known as Jefferson County tax
parcel numbers 001-034-015 and 001-034-017.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 18th day of March 2019.
