RESOLUTION NO. 19-025
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A VEHICLE
PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENTERPRISE
SERVICES THROUGH ITS MASTER CONTRACT USAGE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City's Public Works Department and Police Department require
vehicles to perform necessary City Services; and
WHEREAS, one Public Works Streets vehicle with over 150,000 miles logged has
exceeded its useful life, and
WHEREAS, one Public Works Waste Water vehicle with over 150,000 miles logged has
exceeded its useful life; and
WHEREAS, one Police vehicle was deemed "totaled" after being involved in a collision
and needs to be replaced, and
WHEREAS, the City Police Department also utilizes vehicles that have exceeded their
useful life; and
WHEREAS,the City Police Department does not have an adequate number of patrol
vehicles to perform routine police duties; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified available funds in the Equipment Rental Fund and
the General Fund to make vehicle purchases;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to execute a vehicle purchase agreement with the State
Department of Enterprise Services through its Master Contract Usage Agreement to purchase
two trucks and three police vehicles.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 4th day of March 2019.
