A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD AND EXECUTE THE
CONTRACT FOR THE ASPHALT PAVING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for proposed roadways to be asphalt
overlaid, with Asphalt Concrete Pavement Class B; and
WHEREAS, the City has bid the contract using the Small Works Roster process as
authorized by RCW 39.04.155 and the City's Purchasing Policies; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may award and execute a construction contract with
authorization from Council; and
WHEREAS, delegation of bid award and contract execution is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to award the contract for proposed
roadways to be asphalt overlaid as listed in the bid document for the project known as 2002
Asphalt Program to be the lowest responsible, responsive bidder(s), and to take all necessary and
proper steps to carry out the contract, including approving appropriate change orders that do not
exceed the amount previously authorized by Council for this project in the approved budget.
