A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A FEMA GRANT, EXECUTE
GRANT AGREEMENT, AND EXECUTE PURCHASE
AGREEMENTS CONSISTENT WITH THE GRANT
FOR SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS (SCBA),
AND COMPRESSED AIR FOAM SYSTEM (CAFS)
WHEREAS, the City applied for a Federal Emergency Management Agency FY
02 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety
grant for purchase of SCBA and CAFS; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded the grant, subject to execution of the
grant agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to expedite purchase of the SCBAs and CAFSs to
have them available for the Fire Department personnel as soon as possible,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend as follows:
1. City Manager is authorized to execute the Federal Emergency
Management Agency FY 02 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for Fire Operations
and Firefighter Safety grant agreement and all necessary and related documents for
purposes of obtaining the Federal Emergency Management Agency FY 02 Assistance to
Firefighters Grant Program for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety grant;
2. City Manager is authorized to execute purchase agreements consistent
with the grant for purchase of SCBAs and CASFs.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this sixteenth day of December, 2002.
