RESOLUTION NO. 19-006
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL UNION NO. 589
OF THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF TEAMSTERS FOR
GENERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2019
THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2021
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend has reviewed the
terms of the tentative agreement negotiated by the City Manager and the bargaining
representatives for the Teamster's Union No. 589; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to implement the tentative agreement as
presented by the City Manager at its meeting held on January 14, 2019, by authorizing
the City Manager to sign a final agreement with the Teamster's Union No. 589;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of
Port Townsend, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a collective
bargaining agreement between the City of Port Townsend and Local Union No. 589 of
the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for General Government employees effective
for the period between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2021. Represented employees
whose jobs were reclassified from classification 7 to 9 or from classification 15 to 17
shall maintain their previous step. For example, an employee previously in classification
7 step C will be reclassified as classification 9 step C.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this 14th day of January 2019.
