A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD AND EXECUTE
A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH STAN PALMER CONSTRUCTION OF PORT
ORCHARD, WASHINGTON FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE MORGAN HILL
BOOSTER STATION AND WATER MAINS PROJECT
WHEREAS, a number of concerns regarding the City's water distribution system have
been identified by the City's Water Comprehensive Plan and the State Department of Health; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined this to be a desirable project by its inclusion in the
2003 Capital Improvement Project list; and
WHEREAS, according to the City's Purchasing Ordinance, the City Council must
authorize the City Manager to award any contract over $20,000; and
WHEREAS, this project was bid under the State's competitive bid laws; and
WHEREAS, Stan Palmer Construction was the apparent low bidder and was found to
be a responsive, responsible bidder,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is herby authorized to sign a construction contract with Stan
Palmer Construction of Port Orchard, Washington for the Morgan Hill Booster Station and Water
Mains Project.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this sixteenth day of June, 2003.~~'" J ~i
