A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A JOINT FUNDING AGREEMENT
FOR WATER RESOURCES INVESTIGATIONS WITH THE UNITED STATES
GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (USGS)
WHEREAS, the City requires streamflow information to comply with our water right
on the Little Quilcene River and mutually agreed upon instream flow for the Big Quilcene River;
and
WHEREAS, the stream flow information is necessary to protect our water right; and
WHEREAS, this hydrological information will assist in the accurate prediction and
management of our water resources; and
WHEREAS, monitoring flows is an important component to addressing critical salmon
issues,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, that the City Manager is authorized to sign a Joint Funding Agreement for Water
Resources Investigations with the USGS.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this second day of September 2003.
