A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT WITH
JOFRAN ENTERPRISES FOR BACK-UP PLANS REVIEW AND BUILDING
INSPECTIONS
WHEREAS, the City requires its citizens to have timely plan review and inspections for
submitted building plans and applications; and
WHEREAS, the Building and Community Development Department is responsible for
plan review and inspections; and
WHEREAS, to provide back-up plan review and building inspection services, a contract
was entered into in January 2003 with a consultant, Jofran Enterprises; to aid the Department in
providing the above-mentioned services; and
WHEREAS, due to a combination of a high level of building activity, emerl,~ency safety
inspections as a result of the Aldrich's fire, and the resignation of the BCD building inspector in
April 2003, the use of Jofran Enterprises in 2003 has exceeded original estimates; and
WHEREAS, BCD has sufficient money budgeted to cover this contract through a
supplemental budget request already approved by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, that the City Manager is authorized to sign an extended contract with Jofran
Enterprises not to exceed $30,000;
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this second day of September 2003.
