ORDINANCE NO. 3218
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, CREATING
A FLEET EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE FUND, AN
INFORMATION SERVICES EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
FUND, AND AN INFORMATION SERVICES EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUND
AND AMENDING CHAPTER 3.04 OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, as recommended by the City Manager, the City Council determines it
appropriate to establish separate funds for fleet equipment operations and maintenance,
information services equipment operations and maintenance, and information services equipment
replacement in order to allow the City to better track costs related to fleet maintenance and
information services maintenance and equipment;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend do ordain as
follows:
Section 1. New Section. Chapter 3.04, Funds, of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, is
hereby amended by adding new Section 3.04.350, Fleet Equipment Operations and Maintenance
Fund as follows:
3.04.350 Fleet Equipment Operations and Maintenance Fund
There is established a special fund to be known as the Fleet Equipment Operations and
Maintenance Fund. The fund shall be used to defray the expenses connected with,
incident to, or pertaining to the operations, repair, and maintenance of the fleet vehicles
of the City.
Section 2. New Section. Chapter 3.04, Funds, of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, is
hereby amended by adding new Section 3.04.360, Information Services Equipment Operations
and Maintenance Fund as follows:
3.04.360 Information Services Equipment Operations and Maintenance Fund
There is established a special fund to be known as the Information Services Equipment
Operations and Maintenance Fund. The fund shall be used to defray the expenses
connected with, incident to, or pertaining to the operations, repair, and maintenance of
the information services equipment of the City.
Section 3. New Section. Chapter 3.04, Funds, of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, is
hereby amended by adding new Section 3.04.370, Information Services Equipment Replacement
Fund as follows:

There is established a special fund to be known as the Information Services Equipment
Replacement Fund. The fund shall be used to defray the expenses connected with,
incident to, or pertaining to the acquisition of the information services equipment of the
City.
Section 4. Policy. The City Manager is authorized to draft, approve, and implement
policy for these funds consistent the stated purposes of the funds.
Section 5. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the
provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
Section 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force on January 1,
2019. Publication of this Ordinance shall be by summary thereof consisting of the title.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular
meeting thereof, held this 3rd day of December 2018.
