RESOLUTION NO. 18-059
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A UTILITY
EASEMENT IN FAVOR OF PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1 OF JEFFERSON
COUNTY IN THE AREA OF WASHINGTON STREET AND TYLER STREET
WHEREAS, Public Utility District No. 1 of Jefferson County (PUD) is working to move
its overhead utility lines underground in the City of Port Townsend's historic downtown area;
WHEREAS, the PUD requires an easement on a City -owned lot located south of
Washington Street and east of Tyler Street in order to complete the underground project; and
WHEREAS, it benefits the public to have the utility lines placed underground by
increasing the visual appeal of the City's historic downtown district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
The City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute a utility easement and all related
documents in favor of Public Utility District No. 1 of Jefferson County over City -owned
property located south of Washington Street and east of Tyler Street.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular
meeting thereof, held this 3rd day of December 2018.
