HomeMy WebLinkAbout092718CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP RETREAT OF SEPTEMBER 27, 2018 CALL TO ORDER The Port Townsend City Council met in workshop session on the 27th day of September 2018 in the Cotton Building at 607 Water Street. Mayor Stinson called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM. ROLL CALL Councilmembers present at roll call were Pamela Adams, Robert Gray, David Faber, Amy Howard, Ariel Speser, Michelle Sandoval and Deborah Stinson. Staff members present were City Manager David Timmons, Finance and Administrative Services Director Nora Mitchell, Development Services Director Lance Bailey, Public Works Director Greg Lanning, Police Chief Michael Evans, Finance Manager Sheila Danielson, Parks and Community Services Director Alex Wisniewski, City Prosecutor Chris Ashcraft, Library Manager Public and Technical Services Keith Darrock and Library Manager Hilary Verheggen Consultant Mike Letcher, and Executive Assistant Kelly Graves. STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE Welcome and Opening Remarks were given by Mayor Deborah Stinson and City Manager David Timmons. The overview and expected outcomes were reviewed by Mike Letcher. Work Groups reviewed the 2016-2018 strategic objectives and brainstormed objectives for 2019-2020. Work groups reported out on proposed Strategic Objectives, Strategies, projects, performance measures and groups reached consensus. Mr. Letcher facilitated a process of reviewing the current vision and mission statements to approve, amend or develop new wording based on survey results. He then referenced processes for updating strategic plan, policy for managing the plan and the Strategic Agenda Matrix. ADJOURN Mayor Stinson and Mr. Timmons made closing remarks.
