HomeMy WebLinkAbout18-048 Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate and Execute a Professional Services Agreement with Epicenter Services, LLC to Provide Solid Water Consulting ServicesResolution 18-048 RESOLUTION NO. 18-048 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH EPICENTER SERVICES, LLC TO PROVIDE SOLID WASTE CONSULTING SERVICES WHEREAS, the City currently has a contract for waste collection and recycling services with DM Disposal, Inc; and, WHEREAS, that contract is due to expire in March of 2020, and DM Disposal, Inc is unwilling to extend it in its current form; and, WHEREAS, most solid waste contracts have a term of at least 10 years with options to extend; and, WHEREAS, negotiating solid waste and recycling contracts requires specific and technical knowledge: and WHEREAS, the City does not have staff available with that specific technical expertise; and WHEREAS, the proposed consultant has a broad range of experience assisting many municipalities in the State of Washington. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Epicenter Services, LLC for a professional services agreement for solid waste consulting services in the amount of $34,000. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof, held this 17th day of September, 2018.
