HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-010 RESOLUTION NO. 04-010 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, APPROVING A GOLF COURSE MASTER PLANNING PROCESS WHEREAS, the current City lease with Mike Early Golf Shops, Inc. expires December 29, 2006; and WHEREAS, the City of Port TownSend Parks, Recreation & Open Space Functional Plan (1999), which implements goals and policies of the City's Comprehensive Plan (1996), provides with respect to the golf course that "the City intends to explore all options for management and capital facility improvement for this facility," and that the City "should take a proactive approach to defining these options though the following actions:" development of a capital facilities plan, discussion of short term and long term management options, and establishment of an advisory committee to study the short term and long terms management options and development of a capital facilities plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council, consistent with the Parks, Recreation & Open Space Functional Plan, determines it to be a prudent business management practice to explore options for the furore management and capital facility improvements for the facility following the expiration of the current lease; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended a Golf Course Master Plan Process, consistent with the Parks, Recreation & Open Space Functional Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the City Manager's Golf Course Master Plan Process dated February 6, 2004, is hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized to carry out the planning process, subject to the following: City Council confirms Mayor's appointment of task force; and City Council approves contracts, including any lease, with any operator. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof, held this first day of March, 2004.
