RESOLUTION NO. 18-047
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH NATIONAL GOLF FOUNDATION
CONSULTING, INC FOR A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF PORT TOWNSEND
GOLF COURSE OPERATIONS
WHEREAS, the current lease with Gabriel Tonan Golf Shops, Inc. (dba Port Townsend
Golf Club) expires December 31, 2020; and,
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend golf course is an important community asset that has
been leased and managed by outside entities; and,
WHEREAS; the last comprehensive study of the Port Townsend golf course is
significantly out of date; and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends entering into an agreement with National Golf
Foundation Consulting, Inc., which has a roster of golf course experts who can analyze the
current physical and financial state of the golf course as well as potential future management
options.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with National Golf
Foundation Consulting, Inc. to conduct a comprehensive analysis of golf course operations in an
amount not exceed $18,000 plus travel expenses of $6,000 or less.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 4th day of September, 2018.
