Chair), Maryann Tapiro, Lisa Wentworth STAFF PRESENT: City Manager, David Timmons City Clerk Joanna Sanders/Acting Clerk Pam Kolacy Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Call to Order/Roll Call The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. Approval of Agenda Unanimous approval of the agenda Public Comment: Shelly Leavens, Executive Director Jefferson County Historical Society Margaret Lee Approval of Minutes: None to approve Identify recommended locations and criteria for Committee wishes to update Public Art Plan by identifying potential public art: public art locations, making site visits and making recommendation to Council in early Fall Sites were identified and discussed, then San Juan & 19th (S) (LW) divided into shorter term potential locations (S) and Mountain View Commons (S) (DG) locations that may be considered in the future (F). Rainier Roundabout (F) (LW) Each committee member was assigned sites to visit Maker/s/Artisan District (F) (DG) and report on (Owen Rowe will sub for Kris Morris Tyler Plaza (S) (OR) incoming weeks). Visitor Center (S) (MT) Lisa Wentworth (LW) Maritime Center (S) (LW) Dan Groussman (DG) San Juan & "F" (F) (OR) Maryann Tapiro (MT) Howard and Hastings (F) (MT) Owen Rowe (OR) Kuhn St. & North Beach (S) (DG) Thomas St. Roundabout (S) (OR) Ferry Exit/US Bank (S) LW) Transit Stops (F) (LW) City Hall/Washington Plaza (S) (DG) Bluff across from Customs House (S) (OR) Top of Haller Fountain Stairs S MT Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Site Criteria Criteria for site assessment were identified: Visibility Weather Vandalism Light Terrain Access Maintenance Birds Critical Area Neighborhood character During assessment visits, other sites may be identified to include or exclude as suitable for public art. Sites already identified may be excluded. Next Meeting Next meeting set for Wednesday, August 22, 3-5 p.m. Agenda to include: 1) Reports from site visits: submit in writing to staff no later than Friday, August 17 so information can be included in meeting packet. 2) Discussion of other possible public sites (property owned by City, School District, Hospital, Port, Land Trust Wildlife Corridor, etc.) Include review of Non -Motorized Transportation Plan and Parks Plan for potential siting. (plans are on City website) 3) Initial discussion of creating a maintenance plan for current public art Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
