RESOLUTION NO. 18-042
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON TO DECLARE THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT SHAKER
BOX FOR THE COMPOST SCREEN A SOLE SOURCE AND TO AUTHORIZE THE
CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH CONSTRUCTION
EQUIPMENT COMPANY (CEC) FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE EQUIPMENT
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows:
WHEREAS, the City purchased a compost screen as a critical component to the
Biosolids Facility; and
and
WHEREAS, the shaker box, which is a part of the compost screen now needs replacing;
WHEREAS, this replacement part can only be purchased from the manufacturer; and
WHEREAS, since there is only one vendor that can supply this part and bidding would
likely produce only one bid; and
WHEREAS, City Council must authorize the sole source declaration for any purchase
over $30,000.00 that is a sole source; and
WHEREAS, City Council must authorize the purchase of any supply or equipment over
$30,000.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to declare the purchase of the shaker box from CEC a sole source and authorize the
City Manager to sign a purchase agreement with CEC.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 20th day of August 2018.
