RESOLUTION NO. 18-037
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH NORTON CORROSION LIMITED TO CONDUCT AN
ASSESSMENT OF THE OGWS PIPELINE
WHEREAS, the Olympic Gravity Water System (OGWS) pipeline is a critical part of the
City's water system; and
and
WHEREAS, portions of the OGWS were installed in 1928; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to conduct a study to assess the condition of the pipeline;
WHEREAS, the City does not have the staff or expertise to conduct such a study; and
WHEREAS, City staff has chosen a firm with the expertise to perform such works; and
WHEREAS, services agreements over $10,000.00 must receive Council approval
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to execute a services agreement with Norton Corrosion
Limited to provide the necessary services to perform an assessment of the OGWS pipeline.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof,
held this 6th day of August 2018.
