RESOLUTION NO. 18-035
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, FIXING THE TIME FOR HEARING OF AUGUST 20, 2018 ON A
PETITION FOR A STREET VACATION AND TO CONSIDER NAMING OF A NEW
STREET
WHEREAS, a petition application (LUP18-058) is on file with the City of Port
Townsend to vacate the southern 10' feet of an unopened section of 30th Street right-of-way
lying immediately north of Lots 1, 2 and 3 in Block 20 of Hasting's 3rd Addition to the City of
Port Townsend. The subject right-of-way lies immediately west of the Holcomb Street and 120'
east of Gise Street; and
WHEREAS, the petition has been signed by the owner of more than two-thirds of the
property abutting upon the right-of-way to be vacated; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for the requested vacation, a new 10' wide right-of-way
dedication would be made along the southern property line of Lots 1, 2 & 3, Block 20; and
WHEREAS, this 10' dedication area lies adjacent to an existing 16' wide alley.
Concurrent with the vacation public hearing, Council will also consider approval of a street name
for the widened alley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT:
Section 1. The public hearing will be conducted at or about 6:30 PM on Monday, August
20, 2018, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 540 Water Street, Port Townsend, Washington
or such other date as the Mayor determines if necessary to accommodate other Council business
or requests by staff or applicant, so long as the hearing is not less than 20 nor more than 60 days
from adoption of the Resolution.
Section 2. The City clerk is hereby directed to give twenty (20) days' notice of the time
and place of the hearing in accordance with the provisions of RCW 35.79.020.

ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular business
meeting thereof, held this 16th day of July 2018.
