NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Approval of Minutes The Minutes of December 7, 2017 were unanimously approved
Jefferson Street Sidewalk Project: Brandon Maxwell and David Peterson presented the
proposed design for the Jefferson Street Sidewalk Project. The Board expressed approval of the project and approval of a potential hill climb bike path as presented by general consent. Board members discussed the merits of a four-way stop and revised crosswalk striping at the corner of Quincy and Washington.
Grant Applications: David Peterson reviewed potential opportunities for Safe Routes to School and other pedestrian improvement grants. Alex Wisniewski reviewed the potential for a Recreation and Conservation Office grant for Loop trail improvements.
Trail Project Planning: The Board discussed potential work party projects on 59th Street
at North Beach, 33rd Street, 35th Street, Bishop Park, Cappy’s Trails, and 27th at Hancock.
The Board agreed to hold a work party on February
17th at 35th Street Park and at 30th Street & Cliff Street
Walk Your Wheels Sidewalk Tiles: Lys Burden presented materials on possible options for sidewalk tiles. Mike Kaill agreed to follow up on potential tile options with Laughing Gnome Pottery and
coordinate with Laura Parsons.
Water Street Paving Project Update: Laura Parsons updated the Board on bollard designs to be used at the Tyler Street courtyard.
Non-Motorized Transportation Plan Update: Alex Wisniewski informed the Board that staff would begin planning for the next update soon.
Election of Officers The Board unanimously elected Scott Walker to
the position of Chair and Jolly Wahlstrom to the position of Vice Chair.
Next Meeting: Scheduled for March 1, 2018.
