RESOLUTION NO. 18-020
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT
APPLICATION TO RECREATION AND CONSERVATION OFFICE FOR TRAIL
DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PORT TOWNSEND LOOP TRAIL
AND ADJACENT TRAIL SEGMENTS
WHEREAS, the City's Non -Motorized Transportation Plan and Parks, Recreation, and
Open Space Functional Plan identify trails for transportation and recreation purposes as
important; and,
WHEREAS, the City is continually looking for ways and opportunities to further
develop and maintain the trail system as defined and outlined in both plans; and,
WHEREAS, the State's Recreation and Conservation Office provides a grant program to
fund trail development and maintenance projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to submit a grant application to the Recreation and
Conservation Office for trail development and maintenance of the Port Townsend Loop Trail and
adjacent trail segments.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 16th day of April, 2018.
