This addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and amends the original Contract Documents for Mountain View Commons Improvements project dated January 24, 2018. Receipt of this Addendum must be acknowledged on the Form of Proposal. This Addendum consists of 6 pages and 12 attached drawings. The attached drawings are: SKE-01 through SKE-11 PART I: CHANGES TO PRIOR ADDENDA Item I.1. Addendum 1, Item III.1, Deletion of Section 012300 ALTERNATES Section inadvertently DELETED. Refer to E7.7, FA PLAN – BLDG B LVL 2 ADD duct smoke detectors from AHU-6 and AHU-7. See SKE-11. PART VI: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Item VI.1 QUESTION: Has a hazmat report been done? ANSWER: A hazmat report has been done and there is no asbestos in the building (please also see ITEM VI.7 below) Item VI.2 QUESTION: Can the sign-in sheet be posted (from the pre-bid walkthrough)? ANSWER: See attached Item VI.3 QUESTION: Who will be moving the food, clothes, police desks, etc? ANSWER: The tenants will be moving their own belongings. The rooms will be empty and ready for the contractor to work after the tenant has vacated the space. Page 5 of 6 Item VI.4 QUESTION: Can the contractor and subs work in the hallway east of the new double doors during the Food Bank hours? ANSWER: No. In addition, access to restrooms located between gridlines 17 and 19 must be maintained for building occupants during business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Item VI.5 QUESTION: Can the contractor and subs work in the evening and nights if they can’t work during the day? ANSWER: See Item V.2 above Item VI.6 QUESTION: Are there any existing duct detectors to which the new fire alarm system needs to be connected? ANSWER: See Items V.4 – V.14 above Item VI.7 QUESTION: It was mentioned on the site walk that the flooring had been tested for hazardous materials. Has the ceiling also been tested? ANSWER: No. The City is in the process of having the ceiling tested. If they are found to contain asbestos, the City will have them removed at their own cost prior to work in the area. Item VI.8 QUESTION: From the time the entry door is removed and the pea gravel, concrete, and new door are installed, what type of temporary closure is required? Does it have to be secured at night, or are the police there all night? ANSWER: Yes, the building needs to be secured each night. The police operate out of the building 24/7 but are not in the building 100% of the time, especially during nigh hours. The building is only open to the general public from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Item VI.9 QUESTION: Door hardware group 12 shows new operator and push buttons, but no electric strike or latch. Does the existing doors already have this? ANSWER: Existing doors do not have an electric strike. Item VI.10 QUESTION: Is there a sign schedule for the Mountain View Commons project? I couldn’t find one on the plans and from what I can tell in the spec you only need some restroom signs but it doesn’t indicate how many. ANSWER: There are 2 restroom signs. See Item V.3 above. Item VI.11 QUESTION: Will the contractor be responsible for the disposal of carpet? ANSWER: Yes. Item VI.12 QUESTION: Are there any schematic for filling joints with semi rigid polyurea. Since it is all under carpet no way of knowing where existing joints are. ANSWER: Include 100 lineal feet of joint in bid. See Item IV.3 above. Item VI.13 QUESTION: Spec addendum says joint fill goes in prior to polishing. But standard practice is to install after polishing. Then shave it flush. Is this correct? ANSWER: Specification language revised. See Item IV.2 above. Item VI.14 QUESTION: Can similar sealers and densifiers be submitted for approval if they meet specifications?. Page 6 of 6 ANSWER: Yes Item VI.15 QUESTION: I have the list of Bid forms that are due at the time of bid. It doesn’t list pages 4-8 of the Section 3 Bid Package but page 3 of that package indicates that those pages are due with the bid. If those forms are going to be required at time of bid I am questioning page 6 in listing the proposed total new subcontractors. Page 8 which indicated to list subcontractors that have been awarded the contract which we won’t know who the low bidder is until right before the bid is due. ANSWER: PART 1 – BID FORMS are required to be turned in with your bid. The contractor will be expected to turn in pages 4-8 before execution of contract. END OF ADDENDUM NO. 2
