ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

Mayor Deborah Stinson, City Manager David Timmons, and Legal Assistant/Deputy Clerk Amber Long

Approval of Minutes:
November 1, 2017The minutes were approved 5-0, with Dan Groussman
abstaining.
The Committee briefly discussed the Angel of the Arts. Planning for the ceremony will occur at the January meeting.
Carla Caldwell facilitated a discussion on the Arts The Commission will continue this discussion next year.
Commission’s accomplishments, role in the community,
and vision for the future. Individual commissioners
expressed their views on the Commission’s identity and
discussed ways to work jointly with community groups and
with City staff and Council.
Mayor Deborah Stinson expressed appreciation for the
work that the Commission has done and continues to do.
City Manager David Timmons described the work of the
Commission in the context of Council’s larger scope of work
and suggested ways that the two could mesh together
better. He recommended that the Commission submit
ideas to him and the Mayor for Council’s “inbox.”
