RESOLUTION NO. 17-040
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT
APPLICATION TO THE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT BOARD FOR
DISCOVERY ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) has issued a call for projects
under their Urban Arterial Program; and
WHEREAS, the City has been very successful in prior years' applications under this
grant program and a significant amount of the City's street and sidewalk projects over the last 15
years have been constructed with grant dollars that leverage limited City transportation capital
funds; and
WHEREAS, the project selected for the application this year has been identified as
priority project in the adopted Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program and the Port
Townsend Non -Motorized Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council was informed about and discussed this application at the
August 14, 2017 Workshop;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to submit a grant application to the Transportation
Improvement Board for Discovery Road Improvements.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 21 st day of August, 2017.
