PARKS, RECREATION & TREE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Date: May 23, 2017 Time: 4:30 pm Location: City Hall First Floor Conference Room

Staff Present: Parks & Facilities Manager Alex Wisniewski, Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker
Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action
Approval of Minutes The Minutes of March 28, 2017 were unanimously approved with revisions.
Staff Report: Alex Wisniewski updated the Board on recreation and
maintenance activities and reported on increased swim club membership and an increase in monthly passes sold.
Alex Wisniewski will bring drafts of park rules for the Board to
review at a future meeting. He will also bring back a draft flyer on leash laws and off leash area rules.
The Board held its annual elections. The Board unanimously elected Paul Schutt to the position of Chair and Debbie Jahnke to the position of Vice Chair.
Debbie Jahnke reported that the draft street tree list is still awaiting review
from an arborist. The Board reviewed a list of draft recommendations for implementing the policy.
Debbie Jahnke will bring the revised street tree list and
recommendations to the next meeting for Board review.
The Board reviewed a draft letter to Council commending Alex Wisniewski for his work in the Parks Department. Ed Robeau signed the letter. Joshua Stecker will distribute the letter to Council.
The Board discussed potential grant opportunities for the Parks Department to pursue. Alex Wisniewski will review the Parks Functional Plan for
potential opportunities and report back to the Board.
