A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT TOWNSEND INITIATING A STREET VACATION PROCESS FOR THE
HOWARD STREET REALIGNMENT (CONCERNING PORTIONS OF HOWARD,
BAKER, SHASTA AND 6~ STREETS NEAR DISCOVERY ROAD) AND FIXING THE
TIME FOR HEARING ON STREET VACATIONS (FEBRUARY 17, 2009)
BE IT RESOLVED, THAT:
The Port Townsend City Council determines to initiate a street vacation and set a public hearing
date. The street vacations, if approved, would vacate portions of existing Howard, Baker and
Shasta Street rights of way to create a new Howard Street alignment, and a new 6`h Street
alignment to Discovery Road, as shown on the attached aerial photo maps.
This vacation process is being inifiated by the Council at the request of the Public Works
Department.

The hearing will be conducted at or about 6:30 PM on Monday, February 17, 2009, in the
Council Chambers of City Hall, 540 Water Street, Port Townsend, Washington, or such other
date as the Mayor determines if necessary to accommodate other Council business or requests by
staff or applicant, so long as the hearing is not more than 60 days from adoption of the
Resolution.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular business
meeting thereof, held this 24`h day of January 2009:
