Ordinance 3175
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, RELATED
TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF FEDERAL GRANT FUNDS; REPEALING
ORDINANCE 2363
WHEREAS, Title 24 Section 85.36(b)(3) of the United States Code and other applicable
federal law required recipients of federal grant funds to adopt a "code of conduct" related to the
administration of contracts supported by federal grant funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City adopted Ordinance 2363 on May 17, 1993, which adopted the then -
current version of language required to comply with this requirement; and,
WHEREAS, the uniform guidance for grant recipients has been recently updated, making
it necessary to update our code of conduct language; and,
WHEREAS, there is no reason to adopt these standards by Ordinance; they may be
adopted by Resolution, and staff has presented to Council a Resolution adopting updated standards,
thereby rendering this version obsolete;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend do ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Re caller. Ordinance 2363 is repealed in its entirety.
Section 2. Publication. This Ordinance shall be published by an approved summary
consisting of the title.
Section 4 Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after
the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a special meeting
thereof, held this 10th day of July 2017.
