RESOLUTION NO. 17-024
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PACIFIC GROUNDWATER
GROUP AND ANY OTHER CONTRACTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE GOLF
COURSE WELL DRILLING PROJECT WITHIN THE PROJECT BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City would like to develop a groundwater well for irrigation of the City -
owned golf course and provide an alternative emergency water supply within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have staff with the expertise to perform such work; and
WHEREAS, the City solicited and reviewed proposals from firms with the expertise to
perform such work; and
WHEREAS, Pacific Groundwater Group was determined to be the most qualified to
perform this specialized work; and
WHEREAS, professional services agreements over $10,000.00 must receive Council
approval
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with
Pacific Groundwater Group to provide the necessary services to perform a water -supply
investigation, test an exploratory well, evaluate the new well's capacity, assess the pumping
hydrologic impacts, and guide the water -rights acquisition process and to execute any other
contracts necessary to complete the Golf Course Well Drilling project within the project budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 15th day of May 2017.
