HomeMy WebLinkAbout17-026 Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Agreement with the Jefferson County Public Hospital District and Jefferson County for a Feasibility Determination Regarding Combined Use of the Mountain View CampusResolution 17-026 RESOLUTION NO. 17-026 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A AGREEMENT WITH THE JEFFERSON COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT AND JEFFERSON COUNTY TO IMPLEMENT THE COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PLAN PARTNERSHIP WHEREAS, Jefferson County, acting through its Board of Health ("County"), the Jefferson County Hospital District No. 2 ("Hospital District") have entered into the Community Health Improvement Plan partnership, an innovative collaboration devoted to identifying the most pressing health priorities for Jefferson County and actions that will lead to improvements; and, WHEREAS, the partnership focuses on four Jefferson County health priorities, which were identified through a rigorous community data assessment study and ranked at data assessment meetings. The four health priorities that are focused on include immunizations; access to care; access to mental health and substance abuse care; and healthy eating, active living and chronic disease prevention; and, WHEREAS, this is a critical issue for the City and our priority needs will benefit from the City's participation with this interlocal. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: 1. that the City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute a contract through December 31, 2017 with Jefferson County under which the County will provide the initial focus to look at housing and its impact of the health of the community. 2. that the contract amount shall not exceed $6,188 for 2017 and $12,500 for 2018. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof, held this 15th day of May, 2017. Deborah S.
