HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-05-09 Cherry Street Property Surplus Press Release David Timmons City Manager 250 Madison, Suite 2 Port Townsend, WA 98368 360-379-5043 dtimmons@cityofpt.us Contact: David Timmons 379-5043 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY TRANSPORTING 4-PLEX BUILDING FROM BARGE TO SITE On Monday, May 8, the Port Townsend City Council agreed to surplus City-owned property in the 100 Block of Cherry Street and authorized the City Manager to sell it to Homeward Bound (dba Olympic Housing Trust). The Trust has acquired a 4-plex building to relocate to the property and intends to rent the housing units to very low- income or low-income households for a period of not less than 40 years. The 4-plex will arrive via barge on Wednesday, May 10 with the move scheduled for Thursday, May 11 at 9am. Rolling power outages are expected during the move as shown on the attached map provided by PUD No.1 of Jefferson County. The route will begin at the end of Decatur Street and end at the site on Cherry Street as shown on the attached Google route map.
