RESOLUTION NO. 17-006
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD ALL
CONTRACTS NECESSARY FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF
IMPROVEMENTS AT THE PORT TOWNSEND LIBRARY WITHIN THE PROJECT
BUDGET
WHEREAS, It is necessary and desirable to make improvements and repairs to the
Charles Pink House, Carnegie Building and Library Annex; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has authorized the refinancing of the 2008 bond to fund, in
part, the improvements at the Port Townsend Library; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a Heritage Grant to fund portions of the Library
improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the Library Foundation has offered its financial support to portions of the
Library improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the City will require architectural and other professional services and
construction contracts to complete this work; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must authorize the City Manager to award and sign
professional services and construction contracts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to award all contracts necessary for the design and
construction of improvements at Port Townsend Library within the prescribed budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 6th day of February, 2017.
